Sanadahimo have full of element convergence: hard to stretch, durable, non-slip functionality and beautiful Japanese design.
Inherit the hand-woven tradition, we will exhibit Sanadahimo Master・Enami of Sanadahimo.
Sanadahimo is woven with vertical weft and horizontal weft in flat string by using weaving machine etc., so it is called “The himo “. However, it is also called “The world minimum width’s fabric”
From the functionality created by weaving, it has been used to tie up armor and weapon during the Age of Civil Wars. At present, it is also used for the ties of the paulownia box containing tea utensils and the culture of the “Promised Himo”, which uses a unique pattern of string for each house owner and writer still remains till now.
Besides variety of Sanadahimo, please enjoy the new style that combines tradition and modernity such as accessories and small articles were born from traditional techniques.

「Sanadahimo Master・Enami」is a hand-woven workshop next to Oriental Hotel Kyoto Gallery. From yarn dyeing to weaving, all processes are done by hand. Continued from the first generation who moved from Iga (Ninja Land) to Kyoto at the end of the Age of Civil Wars. He is the 15th generation – Mr. Isao Wada who inherit the tradition of Sanadahimo by using hand-woven machine.
